What moves you? Two minutes can flitter away quickly ... But in two minutes, you can also say a lot - and learn a lot! Have a good listen...seems utterly inappropriate, not to mention scandalous. Am I missing something or is this really offensive? What is anyone going to "learn" about the Catholic Faith from this video? It makes me feel queasy.
(I'm not sure how to link directly to the embedded video on the YOUCAT page, but have linked to the source on YouTube).
At first I thought 'pornography' but then I also thought 'blasphemy'.
ReplyDeleteIt should not be on YouCat!
I agree completely -- how on earth was this approved?
ReplyDeleteAnnie-E: I am no prude, but I agree, I just think that it is silly. Like you said, it doesn't offer ANYTHING positive.
ReplyDeleteI have said this time and time again, someone needs to hire Communications people for Catholic groups and entities, and ones that have their finger on the pulse of what is going on out in the world.
I would gladly fill that role somewhere. I may even post about this... I am just surprised.
What's this supposed to be, Fr Cutie?
ReplyDeleteThis is wrong, very very wrong.
Totally incredible! I don't know what YouCat is but please tell me it doesn't stand for Young Catholic. If so...words fail me. Who is responsible?
ReplyDelete@Jean - YOUCAT is the new "youth" Catechism of the Catholic Church. There has been some controversy as some translations had some misrepresentations of the Faith, which I believe hare (have) being corrected. I don't know who is in charge of the website or what they think they're playing at by allowing this video onto it.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that's horrifying. Ugh ugh ugh.
